2010 NFL Week 9 Matchups | 2010 NFL Weekly Matchups

The 2009 NFL Week 9 Preview features three key divisional games along with a very interesting Quarterback match up. With the 1st half of the season now completed, teams will look to start off the 2nd half of the season strong making a push towards the playoffs. The Colts have been the AFC South's most dominant team in recent years winning multiple divisional titles. The Texans are coming off two straight 8-8 seasons and have the talent to have their franchise's first winning season in 2009. Will Peyton Manning be able to hold off the up and coming Texans when they face off at Indianapolis in Week 9? A season ago the Miami Dolphins rebounded from a 1-15 season and finished 2008 with an 11-5 record and a AFC East title. The Patriots were without their star QB Tom Brady a season ago and look to take back control of the division when they host the Dolphins in Week 9.

The Sunday Night game in Week 9 features NFC East foes the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. These two exciting teams should put on a great show in Philadelphia. Will Donovan McNabb or Tony Romo lead his team to victory when these divisional rivals square off? The 2004 NFL Draft will likely be remembered by the draft day trade sending Eli Manning to the New York Giants and Philip Rivers to the San Diego Chargers. Manning famously said he would not sign with the Chargers if they drafted him, which forced this trade into action. Both Quarterbacks have found success in the league. Manning won the Super Bowl with the Giants in 2007 and Rivers led the NFL in QB Rating a season ago. When they face off in New York, which Quarterback will win this 2009 NFL Week 9 match up?

Sunday November 08, 1:00pm - Washington Redskins @ Atalanta Falcons - The Redskins visit a dome arena for only the second time all year in week 9 when they travel to Atlanta.  The Falcons played well at home all year last year and the home crowd elevated their play as the season grew older.  Look for the Falcons to have picked up lots of momentum entering this week 9 match up against the Redskins.

Sunday November 08, 1:00pm - Arizona Cardinals @ Chicago Bears - The Bears get back to back home games in week 8 and week 9.  A much needed back to back home game in week 9 as the NFC champion Arizona Cardinals come into town.  If the Bears and new quarterback Jay Cutler haven't found a groove on offense by week 9, don't expect it to appear in later weeks.

Sunday November 08, 1:00pm - Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals - The Bengals get a week 9 division match up against the Ravens.  The Bengals will have to win games late in the season against creditable teams such as the Ravens.  If the Bengals can put points on the board early they might be able to pull off a big win at home.

Sunday November 08, 1:00pm - Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts - The Colts get back to back home games in week 8 and week 9 early in the second half of the season.  This careful scheduling can help the Colts build up the speed needed to over take the AFC South from the Titans.  The Texans came close to beating the Colts last year and are a better team this year but, it will take superb play to beat the Colts at home.

Sunday November 08, 1:00pm - Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots - The Dolphin and Patriot match ups have proven to be exciting football games to watch in the past.  In Week 9 Tom Brady should be back to his old form if not the knee injury might be a bit more serious than originally expected.  Look for this week 9 match up to be a good indicator of how well Tom Brady will perform in the later half of the season, when wins really matter.

Sunday November 08, 1:00pm - Green Bay Packers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The Buccaneers come off a bye week in 9, and host the Green Bay Packers.  The Packers look forward to trips to Tampa in November, getting away from the frigged Wisconsin weather.  The Buccaneers don't look to be a very good team in 2009 and might just have fallen over the edge in this week 9 meeting.

Sunday November 08, 1:00pm - Kansas City Chiefs @ Jacksonville Jaguars - The Chiefs and Jaguars combined to win only 7 games in 2008.  Both teams will improve on that record  this year.  Both teams are filled with talented players but, no leaders on either franchise.  which ever team can find some leadership will win this game.

Sunday November 08, 4:05 pm - Detroit Lions @ Seattle Seahawks - The Seahawks look to be a bit better in 2009 after an injury plagued season in 2008.  A late home game in 2009 against the Lions could help the Seahawks reach the playoffs.  Look for the Seahawks to be much better in 2009 than in 2008.

Detroit Lions vs. Seattle Seahawaks Game Preview

Sunday November 08, 4:05 pm - Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints - One of the best match ups in week 9 is this Panthers versus Saints game.  The Saints have stacked themselves with talent the last three years but, still have not found away to advance to the Superbowl.  Many have picked the saints to be a top contender in the NFC, look for this year to be the year the Saints put together a strong regular season.  Starting with a home win against last years NFC South division winners the Carolina Panthers.

Sunday November 08, 4:15 pm - San Diego Chargers @ New York Giants - The Giants get a home game against the AFC West Chargers in what could be a preview of the 2009 Superbowl.  The Chargers play in a weak division and, constantly make trips to the Playoffs with no luck in the playoffs.  If they can beat a team like the Giants in New York, look for the Chargers and L.T.
to make a splash in the playoffs this year.

Sunday November 08, 4:15 pm - Tennessee Titans @ San Francisco 49ers - The Titans get a week 9 game on the west coast in 2009 and, the 49ers get back to back games against AFC South opponents.  Week 8 it was a trip to Indianapolis and this week 9 match up against the Titans.  Look for the 49ers to be a little to out matched for both these teams.

Sunday November 08, 8:20 pm - Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles - The Cowboys are known for their explosive Sunday night match ups and, this week 9 game is no exception.  The Cowboys and Eagles split wins in both meetings last year, with the home teams wining each contest.  Look for that trend to continue this year, the Cowboys take a loss in a close week 9 match up.

Monday November 09, 8:30 pm - Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos - The Broncos get their second Monday night football game of the 2009 season in week 9.  The Broncos play host to the Steelers and, i bet this wish it was a Sunday game at 1 pm when other teams are playing.  Now on Monday night with the whole world watching the Broncos have their hands full.  Look for the Steelers to embarrass the Broncos at home on Monday night.
