Coming into the 2009 Denver Broncos schedule, their team has been almost completely revamped. It started with their head coach - Mike Shanahan, coach since '94, was fired. They replaced him with the Patriots former offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels. The Broncos seek to vastly improve on their 8-8 record in '08, so they will have to step it up if they hope to get into the playoffs. The "new" Broncos are comprised of many free agents, the draft pics they have were augmented by the Bears' first and third round picks, received from a trade involving Jay Cutler. Sixteen players departed from the Broncos, all to be replaced by new members.

Many rookies have been inducted into the Broncos for the 2009 Denver Broncos Schedule, so their preseason games will be more important than many other teams. Their preseason will determine their future line up and perhaps their entire season's activity. The draft brought many additional players, providing the Broncos with fresh faces that could potentially make or break the team. The Broncos and their fans alike enter the Denver Broncos 2009 schedule with apprehension. The Broncos haven't been in the playoffs since 2005, and a Super Bowl hasn't ended victoriously since 1998. Their preseason begins on August 14th, and they will be facing the 49er's at Candlestick Park.
