PokerStars Latest Promotion: The Turbo Takedown

Poker News - November 1st, 2009 - Written by Glen

pokerstarsPokerStars has launched one of the largest USA Online Poker tournaments possible, the Turbo Takedown. The Turbo Takedown is a monthly tournament based on Frequent Player Points rather than actual cash buy-ins. This tournament will carry a prize pool of $1 million dollars, and even include added bonuses, bounty knock outs, and a flashy new ride to be passed to the biggest winner every month.

The last Sunday of every month will hold this massive tournament, to begin at 3:30 PM EST. With a 3,000 Frequent Player Point buy-in, players will have an entire month to accumulate the points. Satellites are also being held daily, allowing for lower buy-in payments to be awarded to those who can outclass the competition and get into the big event.

Since Sunday is the biggest day for tournaments at PokerStars, players can run the Sunday Million, Sunday Warm-Up, and the Turbo Takedown concurrently. Backed by the fact that all tournaments go on break at fifty-five after the hour, running multiple tournaments has never been easier.

The Turbo Takedown rewards players not only with cash, but a brand new Audi TT RS Coupe, or a cash alternative should they choose. When the PokerStars Pros join in the tournament, they will also be offering a $100 dollar bounty should a player knock them out. Consecutive winners will also receive bonuses. If a player ends in the money in back to back tournaments, they will receive a $100 dollar bonus for every tournament in which they have cashed, up to ten tournaments, which would grant a $1,000 dollar bonus.

Up to 25,000 players may enter, and 5,000 will end in the cash, provided there is enough interest. A tournament requiring nothing but Frequent Player Points is bound to receive the attention it deserves, however, creating massive possibilities for players be it through a satellite or through the actual buy-in.
