Congratulations to Mike Eise, Winner of Event 28 of 2009 WSOP

June 17, 2009 - Written By Bonnie

Congratulations to Mike Eise who has been named the new champion of event 28, the No Limit Hold Em'. This event was a $1500 buy in and had over 2640 competitors including some of the big names in poker such as Jason Mercier , Amarillo Slim and JC Tran, just to name a few. This three day event made for long hours of play and patience that could only be displayed from a true professional such as Mike Eise.

As Eise sat at the final table hoping to make it to the final match up, he realized a few of the well known poker names such as Joe Simmons, Jason Potter and Rico Ramirez, were in his company and just as determined as he was to take home the 2009 WSOP gold bracelet. Not long into the final hours of the tournament did Simmons fall short and get put out of the game in fifth position. Potter and Ramirez were not far behind taking the fourth and third positions leaving the final match up to none other than Mike Eise and Jeff Chang.

Things were looking good for Eise as he entered the head to head match with a 9-2 chip lead over Chang. There were ups and downs for both players , that is until Change made a call that would leave Eise left standing with a better hand and the much sought after gold bracelet. Eise will take home a cash prize of $639,331 and the title of No Limit Hold Em' Champion.
