NFL News - November 2nd, 2009 - Written by John

chicago bearsThe Arizona Cardinals will look to rebound from their loss on Sunday to Carolina as they travel to play the Chicago Bears in Week 9. Before their game with the Panthers, the Cardinals (4-3) were riding a three-game winning streak until a six turnover performance cost them in their 34-21 loss. The Bears routed a struggling Cleveland Brown's team 30-6. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Chicago. A win is important for Arizona as they hold just a one game lead over San Francisco in the NFC West.

Arizona quarterback Kurt Warner will need to regroup after his performance on Sunday. He threw 5 interceptions, after only throwing 6 in their first six games, and lost 1 fumble. For the year, he has passed for 1.914 yards and 11 touchdowns. His favorite target is star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald who has 509 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns. The Cardinals have yet to establish their running attack and are last in the league with only 64.9 yards per game. Tim Hightower and Beanie Wells have combined for only 444 yards and 6 touchdowns. As an offense, they are averaging 22 points per game and are 8th in the league in passing with 263 yards per game,

Their defense has been strong against the rush all season, but fell apart last week and gave up 270 yards on the ground to Carolina. They were the No. 1 ranked rushing defense in the league up until this game and fell to 9th, but should regroup against Chicago. The Cardinals have proven to be vulnerable through the air and will now face the 14th ranked passing offense on Sunday.

Chicago (4-3) has gotten most of their offensive production through the air and is led by quarterback Jay Cutler. Cutler has thrown for 1,677 yards and 11 touchdowns for an offense that is averaging 22 points per game. The Bears are led in rushing by Matt Forte who has been up and down all season. He has rushed for 408 yards and 3 touchdowns. He will need to get going after only rushing for 137 yards in the past three games. The Bears have gotten good production from wide out Devin Hester who has 454 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns.

The Bears' defense has done well against the pass and are only allowing 199 yards per game. Arizona has not proven they can run the ball so Chicago should fare well on Sunday. They have forced 16 turnovers through seven games, including 5 against Cleveland.

Chicago will be favored by 3 against the Cardinals according to BetUS sportsbook. The over/under is set at 44 1/2 and the total has gone under in 5 of the Bears' last 7 games at home. On the other hand, Arizona is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games on the road.
