Chargers get 2 1/2 Point on the Road in Arizona

NFL News - August 22nd, 2009 - Written by Ryan Smith

The NFL regular season is still three weeks away, but we do have the preseason to watch and wager on until than. Tonight the NFL has scheduled 10 separate NFL preseason games, and maybe the most interesting game to watch is the Match between the San Diego Chargers and the Arizona Cardinals. Acknowledged as a leader in the sports betting industry, BetED has released game lines, point spread lines, and Over and Under game lines on all 10 games tonight. The Chargers are on the road in this game, and they are +2 1/2 point under dogs in this match up. The Arizona cardinals are at home in this week 2 preseason game, and they are get -2 1/1 point favorites to win this game tonight at home. Bodog has set the Over and Under game line in this match up at 39 points. Neither of these teams accumulated more than 39 points in their first preseason games of the 2009 season.

The Arizona Cardinals lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, in Pittsburgh, in their first preseason game with a final score of 20 - 10. The Cardinals will be trying to incorporate the run game into their offense more in this game, but we know they are going to pass the ball. What to look for? There are two factors to look for in this game, the first is quarterback Kurt Warner. Warner looked a bit rusty in the first preseason game, and he will get a chance to play the entire first quarter in this game. Warner needs to prove to the Cardinals that he is capable of playing in similar fashion to last season. The second factor to look for in this game is the Cardinals defense. The Cardinals could have won the Super Bowl last season if they managed to play better defense. If the Cardinals can not stop the Chargers offense in this game, they will struggle to stop teams all year long.

The San Diego Chargers lost their first preseason game at home against the Seattle Seahawks, and they did not look good. Many sports critics speculate that running back Ladanian Tomlinson is past his prime, and he will be asked to do less this season. What to look for? Well Tomlinson is the guy to watch in this game, Tomlinson will have the opportunity to play most of the first half, and he needs to perform well in this game. Back up to Tomlinson, running back Darren Sproles, is ready to become an every down back in this league, and he is ready to express just that on the football field. If Tomlinson can not find away to be productive in the preseason, his role during the regular season will diminish. Tomlinson has always been he focal point of the Chargers offense, but this season the Chargers will rely on the arm of quarterback Phillip Rivers early and often. This game should be filed with touchdown dances, so make sure you tune in to watch the San Diego Chargers versus the Arizona Cardinals in week 2 of the NFL preseason.
