Pennsylvania Strikes Back

June 3, 2009 - Written by Renee

Last year, William DeWeese, Pennsylvania Representative, put forth the idea that the state he resides over should be one of the strongest casino gambling authorities in the nation. He had suggested table gambling last year, but was shot out of the sky rather quickly. This has not kept him from the pursuit - he is back on the path of attempting, however vain it may turn out to be, to have full blown gambling in Pennsylvania.

Governor Rendell is in favor for table gambling. He has, however, stated that he thinks that every slot gaming centre should be open and operational before table games are brought in. This could be any amount of time, depending on the level of progress being.

The idea is to trump Atlantic City in revenue and visitors. With many casinos around the nation showing a strict and invariably decline in revenue and guests, Pennsylvania may be biting off more than it can chew. Casino gambling in the United States is going the way of many other economic systems - down, and sharply. With few options for additional revenue that does not penalize the citizens, casino gambling has begun to legalize throughout the entire nations.

DeWeese disagrees with the way Governor Rendell thinks Pennsylvania should go about this. DeWeese thinks the table games and slot games should all be thrown in as soon as possible. Gamblers will see that surrounding states finished building or have had established casinos for some time now, and may choose not to go to a Pennsylvania casino - assuming all things go through congress - with the ultimate intention of heading to another state. Habits can be hard to break, even if it is as one as small as where you will do your gambling.

Pennsylvania's legislature will be deciding on this issue with utmost brevity.
