Atlantic City Boasts Beer Blunder

Gambling News - June 22, 2009 - Written by Glen

Revenues continue to fall, and graces along with them. Atlantic City has had its fair share of problems, but the light at the end of the tunnel seems to grow dimmer and dimmer. Financial straits have led Resorts Atlantic City to, allegedly, swap cheaper beer for expensive beer, causing drinks buyers to receive unwanted alcohol.

Drinks and gambling go together like morning commutes and coffee, so it is no surprise that with the multitude of people drinking someone would have noticed. Over the past year, Resorts Atlantic City has served improperly labeled beer. The first instance occurred in August, where a Coors Light tap was pouring out Coors Original. Calorie watchers would have been displeased with the content of their drinks, and complaints were filed.

Now come March, a Miller Genuine Draft, nicknamed the "Champagne of Beers", was linked to a keg containing Miller Lite. Miller Lite is purchased cheaper, and to most drinkers tastes wildly different. Rules and regulations in place by government entities prohibit this sort of behavior, and fines have been incurred by local agencies. The fine was to the tune of $5,000 dollars, and in times of such hardship this sum proves significant.

Revenues have fallen more almost twenty-one percent over the past several months. The past eighteen months have shown a decline in Atlantic City casinos. Revenues have been hurting and several of these casinos are on life support.
