Mohegan Sun Entered Bid for Western Mass. Casino, Found Support

Gambling News - July 18th, 2009 - Written by Glen

Massachusetts residents may have a chance to see pure democracy in action. Mohegan Sun has recently put in a bid to build a casino in the western portion of Massachusetts's, in a town called Palmer.

The Mohegan Sun has brought tribal gaming to many players across several states, and remains one of the biggest names in the Tribal Gaming industry. According to the Mohegan website, they have plans to bring gamin to Palmer just like they did to the Poconos and Connecticut. The Mohegan has emblazoned their website with all of the advantages of this casino, and now the people have heard their plea. Many of the legislators in Massachusetts would be wise to listen to their constituents, and provide the Mohegan Sun with the license to build the casino.

Mohegan has claimed that they wish to transform 152 acres into a powerhouse of gambling, fun, retail, and relaxation. They plan to create over 1,000 construction jobs, as well as over 5,000 jobs directly and indirectly related to the operation of the casino, hotel and spa, world-class restaurants, and internationally branded retail stores. By providing entertainment, Mohegan will also provide for the economy.

The gambling issue is to be brought to a vote by legislators later on this year. Law makers are meant to represent the people, and the people have apparently spoken. They want casino gambling, and the Mohegan Sun is willing to provide. If all goes well, Mohegan will once again add to the landscape a beautiful addition that any state in the union should be proud to have.
