Prospector Casino Enforces Clean Air Act

Over the past few years, we have seen a number of states pass laws prohibiting people from smoking indoors at public facilities. This law is often refereed to as the Clean Air Act and is enforced in a majority of the United States. Montana's Clean Air Act was passed back in 2005, but has only recently been enforced in some bars, casinos and taverns located in Montana. As of October 1st, 2009, Prospector Casino owners will require guests of the casino, restaurants, and bars to refrain from smoking in any enclosed public areas. The law of the land has always been that if any persons in the facility were 18 years of age or older, customers were granted the right to smoke indoors. That will all be changing as of October 1st.

It is common knowledge that tobacco smoke harms the health of both smokers and non smokers. Often times, non smokers will avoid facilities where customers are allowed to smoke indoors, simply for the health hazard it creates. Smokers will argue the fact that a public place is a public place and they should have the right to make the decision whether or not to smoke. Usually the nature of the business has been a determining factor with whether or not smoking indoors is allowed, but it seems that more and more states have actually adopted the Clean Air Act and are now starting to enforce said act.

While this issue can be regularly debated, it is ultimately up to the operator of the casino in which you choose to play. Dick Barnes, owner of Prospector Casino, went before the Design Review board in April to discus his plans to freshen up the facility. One of the issues on his agenda is to make a convenient and comfortable outdoor area available for smokers. This way allows both smokers and non smokers to enjoy the casino, as well as all of the amenities the facility has to offer. Accommodating every guest some times come with a high price to pay, but hopefully all who visit Prospector Casino will be able to appreciate the effort.
