Kansas Casino To Abolish Self Exclusion List

Casino News - November 30th, 2009 - Written by Glen

casinoMany casinos around the nation offer self exclusion lists in order to help problem gamblers control their addiction. While many casinos have been adding this form of program to their casinos, one casino has shocked its players by actually repealing their self banning program.

The Golden Eagle Casino, located near Horton, Kansas, has recently mailed those on the self exclusion list a letter stating that their exclusion would no longer be honored. Gone are the days where those problem gamblers who have asked not to be invited back into the casino be arrested for trespassing upon reentering the casino doors. Some players who received these letters view them almost as an invitation to return to the gaming centers.

With over a decade of enforcing the policy, the Golden Eagle Casino has decided that it has become too difficult to maintain this program. Rather than try to make it work, Golden Eagle has become the first of the three casinos in the area to do away with this program. Other casinos have expressed no desire to do the same, and have even claimed that they would not under any circumstances voluntarily make this sort of change.

The Kansas Coalition on Problem Gambling has said that they will be trying to meet with Golden Eagle officials in the near future in order to try to keep the self exclusion policy in place. While the casino claims that they do not wish to tempt or bring problem gamblers back into their walls, the reason for the letters to each excluded gambler remains one of mystery. General Manager Steve Dole told the Associated Press that the letters were not an invitation, but rather offered those problem gamblers alternative solutions to contending with their problems.

Thankfully, when Legal USA Online Casinos, such as Cherry Red Casino, offer players a self exclusion, they adhere to their convictions.
