Stanford Wong, born John Ferguson, has been playing Blackjack since age twelve. Blackjack players that are famous are often famous for many other reasons. With a PhD in statistics from Stanford University, he is an expert on card counting and Blackjack strategies. He has written several books on Blackjack and on other types of USA Gambling. His most famous book bears the name Professional Blackjack. Other books by Stanford Wong include the books Winning Without Counting, Basic Blackjack, and Blackjack Secrets. He also wrote a book on dice, a book on video poker, and a book on sportsbetting.

Professional Famous Blackjack Player - Erica Schoenberg

Erica Schoenberg is often referred to as the “Blackjack Babe,” and she's also known in the world of poker. Erica was interested in gambling from a young age, and her interest in mathematics and statistics led her to win a county math championship. Erica tried a number of different employment options ranging from being a model to being a kickboxing instructor, and finally became a famous Blackjack players. She has since moved on to the world of Texas Hold'em poker, but she is still involved enough in Blackjack to appear on World Blackjack Tour.

Barry Meadow's fame in Blackjack comes mainly from his book, Blackjack Autumn: A True Tale of Life, Death, and Splitting Tens in Winnemucca. The book begins with a great premise. Meadow sets out to cross Nevada with a car and $8,000 which he manages to turn into over $25,000 over the course of the book. In the book, Meadow tells about experiences trekking through Nevada and playing Blackjack at every casino he could find in the entire State of Nevada. Critics are mixed in their response to the book, since Meadow portrays himself as an obsessive gambler who is somewhat paranoid about being spotted as a card counter and about having his winnings stolen.

There are a number of other players famous for playing Blackjack, mainly those who have written books about Blackjack. For example, Max Rubin authored the book Comp City, and he hosts a Blackjack ball each year. James Grosjean is a member of the Blackjack hall of fame, and is the author of the book Beyond Counting. Hollywood Dave Stan has written a book called Hollywood Blackjack.

Perhaps the most famous names in Blackjack is Edward Thorp. Thorp is credited as having invented card counting. He invented the system called Thorp's Ten Count, the basic system upon which almost all card counting systems used for Blackjack are based. His book, Beat the Dealer, is perhaps the best known book ever published about Blackjack.
